Hello, I bought this and the lights do not work. Any ideas?
1. Check to ensure the AAA batteries are charged and you have placed the batteries at right directions.Then make sure the battery switch is at the ‘ON’ position.
2. Check to see the LED light and the wires are complete and not broken.
3. Check the touch mother board is complete and not broken:see the electric component parts embedded on are full and welded firmly. Make sure that the wires are connected accurately.Red wires are connected to Positive electrode,black wires are connected to Negative electrode.
4. Check the same color wires are connected firmly
How long does it stay on with the touchlight ? Will it turn off itself?
The light in the book nook kit will be on if you press the switch. It will turn off if you press it again. Unless the batteries run out,it will not turn off itself.

I'm still in the midst of construction, but am loving the kit and construction process, sharing photos of the process with friends and family. The reason I am giving it only 4 stars is that some of the guidance in the instruction booklet are not very clear.
Super detailed mini music scene with pipe organ and sheet music. Looks and feels like a tiny atelier
I have built over 10 book nook kits of varying difficulty levels. I have not started on this one yet, but I have reviewed the instruction manual and the parts included. There are 10 wooden; sheets A to K (I an J are not included). thekprintingis of very good quality as is the laser cutting. The parts are easily detached from the sheets. Allmthye parts as shown in the manualare present including a small two sided(fine and finer) abrasive stick. and an appropriately-sized screwdriver. You will need a hobby-knife for careful detachment of some partfrom the wooden boards. A good quality wood glue, not school glue, will be helpful to attach layered parts and longer attachments like room joints. Take your time and enjoy the build.
Your book nooks are spectacular! I have assembled quite a few of them over the past few years. Bach Strings will be next as a gift for my adult daughter who plays the violin.
Really nice kit. Always prefer for instructions to be printed larger for my aging eyes.
